Services

Person-Centred Counselling

Person-Centred Counselling is a short-term, confidential talking therapy that offers support for mental health and wellbeing in a safe, therapeutic environment. It is based on a growth-model rather than a medical-model.

Through this process, I support you in uncovering your inner strength and resilience. And help you identify practical solutions to manage stress and overcome emotional, relational or social challenges to align with your authentic self.

If you are curious about how counselling might support you, I invite you to get in touch and arrange a free 30-minute consultation. It is a chance for us to talk, explore what you need, and see if working together feels right for you.

Trauma-Focused Psychotherapy

Trauma-focused psychotherapy is a long-term, confidential therapy designed to support individuals who have experienced acute trauma or more enduring, complex trauma.

It is particularly helpful when you are dealing with mild to severe emotional, behavioural or cognitive distress, including nightmares, flashbacks, hyper-vigilance, depression, severe anxiety, dissociation, suicidal thoughts, or even psychosis.

Trauma-focused psychotherapy can support you on your journey towards post-traumatic growth — helping you make new meaning from your experiences and begin to thrive again.

Please don’t struggle alone. Get in touch today to arrange a free 30-minute consultation — a safe space to explore whether this approach is right for you.

Counselling Children and Young People

Counselling children and young people

(aged 4-17) is a confidential therapy that helps explore emotional, cognitive and behavioural challenges. It offers a supportive space for children and teenagers to make sense of their inner world and the difficulties they may be facing, whether due to life events, trauma, developmental or attachment disruptions.

My work is framed within a person-centred approach, enriched with play therapy, creative techniques, and trauma-informed practices. This approach helps build trust and safety, allowing children and adolescents to explore their feelings, and express themselves in ways that are age appropriate.

A Few Common Questions

How do I know if I need professional help for my mental heatlh?

It is important to listen to your inner voice. If you feel like you are struggling to cope with daily life, experiencing intense emotions, or just need someone to talk to, seeking professional help can be a great step.

It is a sign of strength to reach out for support when you need it.

After experiencing trauma, how can I build my self-confidence and resilience?

Building self-confidence and resilience is a powerful way to reclaim your life. Celebrate your small victories, practice self-compassion, and set achievable goals. Remember, every step forward is progress, and you have the strength within you to overcome challenges.

I am struggling with childhood trauma and abuse. How can I start healing?

Healing from childhood trauma is a journey, and it is wonderful that you are taking the first step.

Start by acknowledging your experiences and feelings

"Name it to tame it". Techniques like journaling, therapy, and surrounding yourself with supportive people can make a big difference.

Remember, healing is possible, and you are not alone on this path.

I often feel overwhelmed by anxiety and depression. What can I do to manage these feelings?

Managing anxiety and depression can feel difficult, but there are effective strategies you can try.

Mindfulness exercises, meditation, walking in green areas (forest, gardens, parks), and focusing on positive affirmations can help shift your mindset. It is about finding what works best for you and taking small steps each day towards feeling better.

From a therapeutic perspective, I invite to be curious and explore what these anxious or depressed parts are about. They serve a function to somehow protect you, as they emerge from past memories of lived experiences that share similar emotions and sensations.
