FINDING THE RIGHT THERAPIST MATTERS

Take your time to explore a few profiles of qualified professionals - whether a psychologist, psychotherapist or counsellor - before deciding to begin therapy. Many offer a free initial consultation, which is a valuable opportunity to see how comfortable you feel with them and whether the relationship feels right for you. A strong sense of trust is essential for effective therapy.

My Working Agreement

I work with individuals aged 13+ on one-to-one sessions. I aim to provide a safe and confidential place for you to explore, at your pace, whatever overwhelming or distressing feeling, thought or behaviour you are experiencing.

It is an opportunity to work together collaboratively to help you find your inner resources and trusting your own processes to build awareness and make sense of your life experiences.

To ensure the likelihood of effective therapeutic outcomes, therapy process requires commitment from both parties.

You are free to stop at any time and terminate the working agreement. However, it would be best to have a final session so we can have an ending and review the work we have done together.

Confidentiality and its Limits

I offer a strictly confidential service. Under normal circumstances, no personal information about you will be shared with any third party.

When working online, I assure you that I will be alone in a private space during our sessions, and I will ask that you do the same, so we can maintain a safe and confidential therapeutic environment.

However, there may be exceptional situations in which I may be ethically or legally required to breach confidentiality and disclose Personal Information with appropriate third parties.

These include:

If you disclose that you or someone else is at immediate risk of serious harm. In such cases, we shall discuss this and get your consent to act upon.

If you share information related to criminal activities that pose a threat to national security, such as terrorism, money laundering, or drug trafficking. In such cases, I may disclose personal information with the appropriate authorities without your prior consent.

Sessions and Fees

I provide therapy sessions on an individual-basis, either in-person (in Aberdeen town centre) or online via Microsoft Teams.

Sessions can be arranged on most weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Each counselling session lasts 50 minutes in duration and will be ideally on a weekly-basis (unless agreed otherwise) at a date and time to suit you.

My fee is £50 per session regardless whether therapy is conducted online or in-person. You can pay me either in cash or by an electronic transfer.

All payments will be invoiced.

Therapy can be provided either in English or in French.

Currently, I do not accept payment through private health insurance companies.
